Headed out to Isla Grande yesterday. It was a nice trip… about 2 hours by car. Went to a tiny town and took a boat about 4 minutes to the island. Sat on the beach for a few hours drinking beer and listening to music then wandered around the island for a while. had lunch, wandered around some more then took the boat back and toured Portobello which was some pirate place. Our drivers english is pretty broken so I don’t catch a lot of what he says…

I’m at war with housekeeping here… they keep giving me a newspaper after I’ve asked them not to twice and keep washing my towels even after I leave the note that says “if you don’t want your towels washed hang it back up” on the fucking towel. So now I keep my privacy sign up 24/7 and step over the freaking papers they leave me on a daily basis. I asked one of the girls at the office if they recycle and she started to laugh at me. apparently they don’t recycle anything at all. Well… they reuse glass bottles, so I’ve taken it upon myself to try to get glass whenever possible. Hopefully they sanitize them or I’ll be bringing back a nice case of herpes and Hep. wanna make out? They also like to throw out my mini shampoos and conditioners in my bathtub after one use… I tried to hide them… and the next day I got THREE of each. sustainable living at it’s finest.

Gonna find the pool today and read a book, write some postcards and charge lunch to my room…. looking forward to that… my first bit of downtime since being here.
